Wahe & Potkis

WAHE

Wahe, a choreographer of Armenian origin living in Prague, is a music and dance enthusiast, working as a promoter, movement director and lecturer. During his career he has won prestigious dance battles such as Juste Debout East and SDK Housedance Final, travelled the world and brought international capacities to the Czech Republic through workshops. His experience and passion for movement has led him to collaborate on theatre projects and create choreographies that redefine the perception of dance. He organized battle Hejbejse, which enriched the Czech dance scene with new concepts, and now he is fully dedicated to the international festival Tancesraz, where he combines his knowledge and contacts. As a movement director, he has worked on major projects, including the show DYKUVZDÁNÍ at the O2 Arena, which he created with his wife Zuzana Akopjan Vesela. Together they run BRWNS, a dance company focused on creative production and education, where they help develop young talent and innovative approaches to dance. In addition to choreography, she is also involved in production and dramaturgy, pushing the boundaries of dance not only on stage but also in its organizational level. His love for music has also led him to become a DJ, bringing movement and music together to create unique atmospheres in the dance scene. He is constantly looking for new ways to inspire the dance community and develop the Czech and international scene.

POTKIS

He started dancing in 2005. Since 2009 he has been living in Prague, where he shares his love of dance with his family. He is a member of The Next Movement from his hometown of Šumperk, as well as Rhythm of Soul, representing the first generation of house dance dancers in the Czech Republic and SK, and last but not least Dance Fusion Family, where he was welcomed by his teacher Shannon Mabra, who is a member of the original legendary Dance Fusion from NYC. He is also the founder of the house project Club Culture Plants, where he passes on his experience to the next house generation in Prague. He considers it essential to love culture, music and be a natural part of it. He is primarily a freestyle dancer representing the club and house scene. He sees dance as a way to himself and tries to enable others to find and understand this way.
He came to DJing through his love of dance and club dance culture. As an avid listener and lover of music, he explores the styles in depth and tries to discover their roots and references. He plays mostly electronic music that draws from post disco, synth pop and jazz. In his selection you can hear most often styles like house, detroit techno, broken beat, garage, future jazz and others. As a DJ, he wants to take the listener through a wavy path that, despite some diversity, has a clear direction and purpose.
