What if I don’t want to “play” the SDK mentoring challenge?
It is necessary to explain that THE SDK CHALLENGE is only an added value and a bonus to the workshops. Everything remains the same. As part of one SDK DANCER TICKET, you can choose which workshops you want. If the MENTOR does not choose you after 2 workshops, nothing happens, you have visited his 2 mentoring workshops and you also participate in all the workshops of the other lecturers you have chosen. Please in the registration only choose workshops that you will actually go to.
Can I choose in the registration more than one mentor?
No. In the SDK Mentoring Challenge, each participant can choose only one mentor. This applies whether you join the challenge through the SDK Dancer Ticket (which includes up to 13 workshops), or by purchasing the SDK Mentoring Challenge separately via the e-shop for 1500 CZK / 60 €. In the second case, you must also purchase two workshops of your chosen mentor in the e-shop and then add the SDK Mentoring Challenge as an extra item. In all cases, you select one mentor in one style only. This year, participants can choose from six mentors. Show styles include House Dance and Choreo, while Battle styles include Hip Hop, Dancehall, Funk, and Afro.
Can I attend workshops of mentors other than the one I have chosen?
Yes, of course. It just can’t overlap with your 2 mandatory workshops with your chosen mentor. So at every workshop of the mentors there are always:
A/ students who are currently playing the SDK Mentoring Challenge;
B/ all other students who chose the workshop, but do not participate in the challenge of this mentor.
How will the mentor recognize that I am in his/her SDK mentoring challenge?
Every student who will be at the workshop of their chosen mentor will be marked with a sticker of the mentor (everyone will receive it at check-in on the first day of the camp).
What if I will make it to the TOP20 of my mentor?
If you make it to the TOP 20, you will get another bonus workshop and mentoring with your favorite mentor, and you will try to fight your way up to the TOP 5 on the stage alongside him/her.
What time are breakfast, lunch and dinner in the SDK canteen?
- Breakfast 8:30 – 10:00
- Lunch 12:00 – 14:30
- Dinner 6:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
Will be SDK Europe canceled due to bad weather?
If there happens to be bad weather during the festival, we have a wet option and will move the outdoor workshops inside the hall. So the festival takes place whatever the weather.
Where can I buy SDK merch?
You can buy our merch in SDK shop. The merch will then be ready for you at registration on arrival. There will also be merch available for sale on site, but each variant and size is limited.
Can I buy an individual workshop and participate in the SDK challenge?
Yes, you can buy individual workshops and for the first time, our e-shop offers the opportunity to join the SDK Mentoring Challenge without purchasing the full SDK DANCER TICKET. If you’re not interested in the complete package of 13 workshops with access to the evening program and battles, but your main goal at SDK Europe is to make it into the TOP 5 of your favorite mentor, simply purchase 2 workshops with your chosen mentor in our e-shop and add the SDK Mentoring Challenge separately for 1500 CZK / 60 EUR.
How do I get to the venue?
The closest public transport stop to the Nová Zbrojovka area is “Kuldova” or “Náměstí republiky”, which is an 8-minute walk away. You can also take the train to the “Brno-Židenice” stop (about 10 min walk).
Is it necessary to buy a day pass for SDK Europe?
If you want to visit the festival area during the day, there is no need to buy a day ticket. You only need a ticket if you want to attend the evening programme and parties.
Where can I buy tickets for the battle?
If you want to come and watch the battles, you can buy tickets HERE.
If you want to register for the battles and attend the preselections, you can buy a ticket HERE (registration for the battle are until 12:00PM every day of the battle you want to attend).
What about parking?
Parking is available for visitors at the Nová Zbrojovka for 10Kč/hour. Participants with SDK DANCER TICKET have free parking on the premises. They will be prompted by email to provide a license plate number the day before.
Can I exchange Euros on site?
Unfortunately we do not exchange Euros on site.
Can I buy an individual workshop and SDK Mentoring Challenge on site?
Individual workshops and the SDK Mentoring Challenge can also be purchased on-site during the camp for the same price. However, they are not sold directly at the registration desk, our team will guide you to the SDK e-shop, where you can complete your purchase easily. If you need any help, we’ll be happy to assist you on site.
Do junior chaperone get the whole programme for free?
Yes, but only if the junior (person under 15) has purchased the full SDK DANCER TICKET. If junior has only purchased individual workshops or an evening programme, the chaperone needs to purchase their own ticket. No ticket is required to enter the area during the day.
Can I register for the battles on site?
Yes, but the registration must be completed by 12:00pm on the day of the pre-selection.
Who will be the judges for the SDK challenge battles?
The jury for the SDK CHALLENGE battle is the audience. The winner will be decided by their applause using a noise meter.
Can I pay with my card at the venue?
In the restaurant, cafe and bar, yes. At the cash desk we sell only merch with cash payment or QR payment. All other purchases exclusively through the SDK shop.
Can I buy an individual workshop of the world mentors also on Thursday and Friday?
Absolutely, you can buy any workshop of international mentors. Buying an individual workshop does not only entitle you to play the SDK challenge.
What about safety?
The organiser’s staff, security, fire wardens and qualified medical staff are present throughout the camp. However, the organiser is not responsible for items left unattended.
